50 Points against Milano- D'Antoni and Bob McAdoo video
1987 Gold Medal- 40 points vid.                      1989- 45 points against Sabonis
The 2010 Naismith Hall of Fame class was announced this week and the list included 1992 Dream team members, Karl Malone and Scottie Pippen and also had high school legendary coach Bob Hurley Sr., Lakers owner Jerry Buss, WNBA star Cynthia Cooper, former Celtics star Dennis Johnson, Power forward Gus Johnson and Brazilian International star Maciel Pereira. All 8 are legitimate inductees, but once again the greatest scorer in European basketball history (NICK GALIS) will not be involved in the Naismith Hall of Fame ceremonies.    Nick Galis played for Seton Hall, and in his senior season he averaged 27.5 points per game and his coach Bill Raftery called him the greatest player he ever coached. He was not the biggest guy at 6' 1", but somehow he fell to the 68th pick in the 1979 NBA draft, to Boston. Nick Galis was injured in pre-season and his spot was taken by Gerald Henderson. Later Celtic great Red Auerbach would say the biggest mistake he ever made was letting Nick Galis go.    Nick Galis moved to the A1 Greek league, where he averaged 33.5 points per game of his amazing career in 384 games.   He also was a star on the Greek national team averaging 30.5 points in 168 games.   NBA teams tried to bring Galis back to the U.S, but he wanted badly to play for his national team.  He once scored 50 points against North Carolina University and Michael Jordan in a 1983 game.   He was a killer in the 1987 European Championships, in Greece where he led Greece to a Gold medal, averaging  37.0 points per game in the tournament and he scored a team high 40 points in the Gold medal game against Russia.     In 1989 he scored 45 points against Arvydas Sabonis and Russia in a 81-80 win. The great depth of Yugoslavia would eventually win the Gold medal over Greece at that 1989 European Championship, but Galis was a one man show for Greece averaging  35.6 points a game in the tournament.    I go to NBA games and talk to people who played against Galis and they all agree with me on the greatness that Nick Galis had. An NBA GM, who played against Galis in International play, described him as amazing to me. I also had a former player tell  me, is he European or American, as to why he might not be in the Naismith Hall of Fame.    The numbers do not lie, people were amazed at what Allen Iverson could do in the age of Sportscenter, but Nick Galis might have been a combination of Isiah Thomas and Allen Iverson before all the media outlets.    The greatest scorer in European history needs to be inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame , just as he was a 1st ballot inductee into the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2007.            GALIS 53 POINT GAME                                  GALIS MIX VIDEO

BODIROGA DRIBBLE                                  GALLINARI DRIBBLE
1. KNICKS 109 NUGGETS 104-- Danilo Gallinari is averaging 14.4 points per game this season, and the 21 year old, 6' 10" forward had his 3rd straight game of over 25 points on Tuesday night, as he and Carmelo Anthony dueled at the Garden, with Carmelo going for 36 points, on 14-26 FG, and Gallinari went for 28 points. Danilo shot 7-19 from the field and 5-13 on 3 point attempts. The 13 shots from beyond the arc, are too many for the young player, who had a nice baseline reverse layup drive in the late 4th quarter, and I think with his size and unique ball-handling skills, should do more of taking it to the basket. As the 6th pick of last years NBA draft, Danilo has progressed faster than most people anticipated, but I think the year in the Euroleague with AJ Milano helped him and other young players would be wise to have at least one year of Euroleague action before jumping into the NBA. The Nets young forward, Yi Jianlian could have been helped by a year in Spain, Greece , or Italy.  GALLINARI VIDEO

2. BOBCATS 95 WIZARDS 86-- Boris Diaw put up 17 points, on 7-15 FG attempts to help the Bobcats beat the Wizards and push their record up to 36-34. Gerald Wallace also had 17 points and pulled down 19 rebounds. Mike Miller led the Wizards with 15 points.
